xbox ftp mac - anyone any luck??

we've got a 1.6 crystal xbox and the latest macs, and are having problems ftping to the xbox

we've got evolution x as the dashboard, and have tried to use transmit 3.0.2 and FTPeel, but no luck. it connects, sees the C, D, E, X, Y, Z drives, but it wont let me create folders in the C or E drives or even look in the D drive.

our aim is to somehow ftp emulated roms to the hard drive, and maybe, if its possible, run divx's and photos and mp3s over the network, off our macs, onto the xbox.... that would be the bomb

anyone know how to succesfully ftp to an XBox from a Macintosh?
