How to copy ps2 dvd with Alc.120%, but changing...

the extention name. normally its set to .mds but i want to change it to .iso to test something. i know u can change it when its a normal cd, but i cant figure it out with a dvd cos it only stays on mds file extension for the image.

any suggestions?

Hi i have the same problem, When i was making images before it always made an ISO , but a freind set it up for me, now i reisntalled windows and i only make MDS fils, how do i burn them or get ISO :( :(

If your computer has Fat 32 file system, then you can't have a file that's bigger than 4GB. So, if you get a MDS file there is usually other files too. The mds file just merge the files together.

Theres the MDS file and a winRar fril which seems tro be the whole thing being 4.28 gigs, when i try to burn the MDS i get an I/O error thing :9

Oh the WINrar file is an ISO file.... or so it says when i add it to Alcohol 120% but it says theres something wrong with recording procdiur

use DVD Decrypter to burn the MDS extension
mode>iso>write

select the MDS

what exactly are you trying to do?
what image did you make?
what did you use?(to make the image)

thanks for the reply guys but not the answers im after. i'll re-write what i need.

when i put the ps2 dvd into the pc, and when u go to make the Image, the file extension that it writes it as is a .mds file. I want to make an image with the extension as a .iso, NOT the .mds.

are you using decrypter
click through the settings and disable "create MDS"

no i was using Alcohol 120%. ive only used this program because ive had a zero casualty rate for doing ps2 games.

its only an extension of the iso

Im trying to backup LOTR a thrid age (ps2 game) but it keeps comming up with an error message, soemthing liek reocding procidure failed, it does it at the start before i think it even starts burning :9
