what you have downloaded is a complete waste of time
1:it wont work
2:if it did,you cant get it to work, you need a mod-device of sorts

if you read through the posts.you would know
you would have read this game needs to copied onto PTP,thats "parallel track path"
the game is on dvd-9 dvd media running on parallel paths and not OTP(opposite track paths),
so the 2 layers are not running in one straight line,so to speak
no media can burn this type, amd if we had some, the burner wont support it.as far as i am aware
without going in to too much detail, trust me
this has not been cracked yet
and i say yet

is it not possible to create an iso of the second layer then putting the entire block of data in reverse order (Every single bit) then when it is written in otp it will come out in ptp. Or do burning progs burn something at the start of a layer which you can't change?
Also if you put each layer on a seperate disc then use swap magic to boot the first layer and (With the entire ps2 opened up) physically swap the layers at the correct point? And when is the exact point to do that? Thanx

Actually I agree with hursty to a certain point, the game hasn't been able to boot with any method at the moment(swap magic, modchip, harddrive etc...).It can actually boot to a certain point with swapmagic, but not playable since it fails to read the copy at certain parts. The hidden files are encrypted with some sort of copy protection from Sony, new to everyone and needs time to be looked at.I think people should take it easy on GT4 though.GT4 is not a easy game to backup since it has a new encryption, and therefore takes time to decrypt.Give it some time, and I think any game can be backed up if given enough time.We are not actually extracting the game though to be honest,no matter what anyone says.I know no program out has the ability to read certain parts of the game, and will give you false information(Sonix has pointed that out).I think a program will come out that will support extracting the real files from the game, which means from the Second Layer. The first layer is said to have false information, not sure if this is true or not but just what I heard.Sony has done a good job putting this game together, and I don't blame them for pirating purposes. They are just trying to keep their investment, and you really can't blame them for that right.I bet a solution will come in due time, but be patient and wait because good things come to those who wait.

I heard that Sony was informed a couple of days ago by some newspapers, that many hackers/groups aren't able to copy gt4 succesfull. All the new games between May 2005 till 06/07 of Sony/Konami/EA and some other big company's(last year of the ps2) have the new excyprtion code.
Source some one at, ign.com ;)

Heh actually that would be probably good news to hear to be honest, because think about it.Once someone figures out the encryption from just GT4 (Sony,Konami,etc...) there will be no real hard encryption to use for a long time once again.Give it some time though,if someone can put a game on a disc it is possible to make a backup of it no matter what the disc is.I haven't seen anything that hasn't been unhackable, and you know there are alot of people working on this which is also a good sign.I am just telling you what my thoughts are on this, but if they do use this encryption on the newer games it is not really a bad sign.It is actually just technology catching up to us,it happens all the time.

you can still get the bootleg/priate version of Gran Turismo 4 like the HK version expect this one is the US version. I'm pretty sure I have a bootleg version cause the cover on the dvd is Japanese but the game itself is in english. Also the dvd itself seem to be duel layer. also from what I heard you'll be needing the latest modchip, dunno if that true tho, lol.

What about HD Loader? Is it possible to play off HDloader?
Thanks.
The only other way is to get a Hong Kong Silver Press Copy. Easier said then done.
