Hi all,
I bought a very nice PS2. It has swap disc, a 140 gig drive, and HD advance discs. I want to be able to back my collection up and be able to paly them on my new PS2.
I learned to burn them by using DVD dcrypter. I used it just like it advises in these forums but I am not sucessful, when I attempt to play them I have no luck.
Any imput would be appreciated, I am sure there is a thread that can answer someof my questions although I have yet to find it. thanks

what type of media are you using?
What version PS2 do you have? (slim or the older kind)
What are some of the games?

here is a forum on using DVD Decrypter. If you followed these and it still didn't work then the problem lies elsewhere.

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
I have both DVD+r(benq) and cd-r.I have only tried with the dvd media.
The ps2 I have is the older kind, it has a top loader, not a sliding tray.
What games am I burning? Well that is a big coincidence, the very first game I tried burning was infact bloodrayne because it is my favorite. i then tried bloodrayne2. I ended up with two coasters.
I am also assuming I know how to use the swap magic. I put the swap disc in(either cd/dvd), it reads insert disc, I insert back-up disc, and hit e to process it.
thanks

I don't have Bloodrayen, the first one. But i do have Bloodrayne 2 and it has a dummy file that needs to be removed before you will get it to work. You will need ISO Buster and CDVDGEN to do it. Once you get those downloaded let me know and in the mean time i will look for the instructions on how it is done beacause i forget.

use DVD Decryptor to make an ISO Image (iso read).

Then create a new folder for the files you'll be making.

Next Use ISOBUSTER to extract the files (Do not extract the garbage files). Make sure you note the original order of the files as you will need this later. If you just delete the garbage files it wont work because the game looks for these files in order to load, so what you want to do is replace the garbage files.

Using windows notepad open a new file, hit space bar once and saved it as the garbage file (use exactly the same name as the file you are replacing). So you should end up making 5 garbage files(garbage 1,2,3,4 & 7 - I think). Make sure you save these files in the new folder you created.

Now narrow the window so that all you see is 1 line of files going vertically. Make sure these files are in the same order as they were when you first used ISOBUSTER. Now open your CDVD Gen program and click and drag all the files (in order) to the left portion of dvd gen. Create your star files and use MS DOS to create an Iso Image combining all of these files.

Finally use DVD Decryptor to burn the ISO onto your media and HOLY CRAP!!! IT WORKS!!!

I know it sounds crazy but this method also works to cut those dual layer discs down to fit a single 4.7 GB disc so it may come in handy again.
