Hi guys,

Wanted to poll you all on your opinions. I'm getting sick of Cobra 0.4 way to many DRE's.. Cobra 1.0 is supposed to be released any time soon...Can't wait

Thanks!

at my opinion, GCOS is the best.

I've had much better success with cobra 0.3 than with GCOS 1.4. Mario Tennis gives me dres every 5 minutes or so and the laser makes a very strange noise with GCOS; with cobra the noise and dres are completely gone.

Can cobra be used like GCOS, streaming it?

I can give you a 99.9% no, since cobra is made by the viper people, they wouldn't want streamers using it.

I like them all to be honest, but if I had to choose.I would probably say GCOS,since the people behind it I have talked to and actually are reasonable with the people.Cobra is alright, but the downfall is they are associated with ps2nfo or so called ps2ownz.Anaconda I like, because this is what started this new discovery. To be honest,I think it is brilliant much props to the peeps for finding this trick out.

i agree with L-Burna. also gcos is a far more complete project than cobra with many more features. it's good to have many options in terms of different teams working on bioses. it increases competitiveness and that's good for us :)

hmmm the multiboot disc seems to be off. If im am correct, the total size is over 4 gigs...the gamecube laser only reads less than half the size of a dvd. Even if you can fit more than one game, how can it read it?

I really want it by Saturday, thats when my holidays start.. I want to go back home and show my little bro how good it is, not a bloody DRE after ten minutes gaming!

hey nemo, did you try running PI/PO scans? After I did this, I discovered that my dvd burner (Sony DRU-710A) does not like Ridata Ritek G04's at all. The very first backup I made was paper mario on a memorex dvd-r prodisc and after about 3 or 4 hours of play I never had a problem with it. And when I scanned for errors on the prodisc they were very minimal.

I've since switched to memorex dvd+r G04 and they work perfect on my cube. My mario tennis used to dre every 5 minutes and now on my +R's I never get a dre. I can keep it paused as long as I want and play as many tournaments in a row as I want and I'll never get a dre.

I truly think that if you and anyone else having a lot of problems finds what media their burner likes the best from running tests on your burns, a lot of your problems will go away.

I'm sure bios is still an issue with dres but I now think that it's only about 5% or so of the problem. I was using ritek G04's blindly because everyone said they were the best, but it turns out my burner disagrees.

Edit: I can't scan my +R's for errors because my burner won't let me, but I'm positive that if I did, they would have even less errors than the prodisc.
