My thanks to ScubaPete -

ref my earlier posts about not being able to burn the SlideShow to DVD (despite uninstalling/reinstalling/defragging etc, etc) picked-up on the comment from Pete that it is essential to use the Cleaning tools provided by Nero. Downloaded these - ran the files - cleared out the programs, registry details etc, etc - rebooted, defragged and reinstalled the original 6-disk plus the updates.

Wow!!! Easy, peasy. Built the SlideShow, put in the audio, burned the disk and have just finished watching the end-result on my sitting-room TV.
Brilliant.

I knew it was worth the challenge ;D

Going to e-Mail Nero now to let them forget my two posts to them.
