I have tried a search, but really couldnt find an answer, so here goes-
First off, I was using the "bbmayo" instructions for ripping the "movie files only" with Decrpytor and then using Nero to burn. (From his website).
When I got to the file caching part in Nero, it said there were IFO and BUP files missing, and did I want to continue. Since the instructions didnt mention this, I went on to burn and the DVD didnt work.
Is there another step I am missing?
Thanks
Jon

You are using two seperate guides that just show how to use those 2 programs. Follow the whole 1st guide You are missing using Shrink... Use the first guide and follow it to the "T" your trying to take short cuts and it won't work that way. Over 9,000 people have used that guide and they have all worked :-)

Very cool. I figured once "ripped" it would be able to be burned.
My mistake.
And thanks for such a great site!

Hmm, the 'failed calibration error', is more than likely the disc itself.
I don't know the exact theory behind the power calibration error, but (to my understanding), when the burn is to be initiated then the laser goes to a certain area of the disc and basically calibrates itself in order to burn at the correct speed (by energising itself and checking the feedback) for the disc, if the disc is of low quality then most of the time this is an arror that occurs.
What brand disc are you using?
It maybe worthwhile to try a different brand.

They are TDK -R 8x.
I didnt get this the first time I burned...(although that burn didnt produce a dvd I can use)
I will try again and see what happens. Maybe it was just a bad disc.

Could be, bad discs do appear from time to time.
Also the TDK are a known good brand aswell.
Maybe a DVD Decrypter issue with your burner or an outside possibility of dated firmware on your burner.

My buddy that gave me the drive (he upgrated to an 8x) said that he had trouble getting the drive to work with Memorex 8x media, so maybe this is the same problem with the TDK and this particular drive.
I am going to try and find some 2x or 4x media this weekend.
Thanks

Hey, I got it to work! Even works on my regular dvd player. I used Decryptor & Shrink, but I had to use Nero to burn the ISO.
I cant get Decryptor to burn no matter what media I use. So it must be a drive compatibility issue. I bought some different media, all different brands, 1x, 2x, 4x, and nothing. But Nero works even with the TDK 8x.
Anyway, thanks for all your help!

Nice to see you got a result, happy burning.
BTW:You can just use dvdshrink on it's own without the need for DVD Decrypter..................
