nero vision exp audio lag?

hello,im having an "audio lag" problem when an avi file is converted and burned(for stand alone dvd player)using nerovision express 3?. now, this is a 2 file movie, the second file plays fine(after encoding).the funny thing is both files play "perfectly" on my pc?. could the 1st file have an audio extension that nero has trouble converting?these files were from a p2p network,and obviously altered for sharing, i believe they were dvd or vhs in origin.any feedback would be appreciated...thnx, gmo
