can someone please tell me why my backups keep jumping during video parts in game done 2 games so far and both jumped but normal ps2 games dont

possibly the angle of your laser mate, search out a thread giving tips on how to adjust for which model of PS2 you have. I used to get jumpy video/sound all the time on backups but since adjusting the angle of the laser its been like playing originals all the time!!

Before trying adjusting your laser, I would try a different type of media. Mine did the same, but when I switched to a better kind of dvd-r, the problem went away.

The best ones to go for mate are ones with RITEK GO4 or GO5 dyes in them. They are picked up by the laser really well. You will notice that they have a darker coloured bottom to them than normal 'crappier' DVD-R's, like a dark purple as opposed to a blue.

I started out using Teon brand (they suck for games), I have had really good success with Maxell -r's. I hear the ritek 04's are really good also.
