darew9291,
Did you try my earlier suggestion
Quote:
You could try changing the extension on those .img files to .ISO that has worked for some people
I know amongst all the trash talking you may have missed it. :-)

i tried using a program called MagicISO which did convert the movie to bin with a .cue file but i still no luck and i dont no how to change extension itself unless u mean converting the file to .iso which i had also tried but i still had no luck

i tried extracting the .VOB files but it would jus say my drive wasnt ready when it came time to burn or that there was no disc present i mounted them on the virtual drive that came with Alchol 120% and watched em.

I was pretty pissed that I couldnt put 1 of the movies on disc though it was for my cousins birthday but now i guess ill have to scrounge up a bit of cash i dont wanna sound like a cheap/poor ass but when your not working thats just the facts

darew , are ya using a decent -R media ?
I/O error usually occurs if the disc is dirty/scratched/faulty etc.

omg not memorex!

as for virus protection the 2 i know are norton, by symantec, and mcafee by network associates. there are even freebie ones, but there's basically lots of choice.

Couple words of advice about that... Never ever buy Memorex again!!! Absolutly the bottom of the barrel as far as media goes.

I would also never ever buy media from Future Shop again either. 3 bucks each!! Holly Cow!! they must have saw you comming, and for memorex at that..

Yes Memorex has been know to not burn at all..

Maxell, FujiFilm, Sony, Verbatim Data Life plus would all be a good start, but anything is better than Memorsux's!

alright looked over the guide and i'll go buy some maxell or TDK discs but the thing is burned a movie of the same format with a memorex disc like 2-3 weeks ago and it came out great so i dont know?

this is how i have been trying to burn the media:

i click record in nero

then burn image

i choose my file (.IMG)

and the it says waiting for drive to become ready but it never becomes ready is it the memorex cd that is crap that is making my drive not ready?

Probably not..

Do you have any packet writing software installed on your computer? Like Nero's InCD for instance? Or maybe Direct CD from Roxio?

Thats your problem I am willing to bet!!

Get rid of it!!! Go to Nero's website and download and run the Clean uninstall tool for InCD.. After you have removed it from <Add Remove Programs>

Your problems should then be solved.. Hopefully :-)

But that media still sux's LOL :-)

anyway i tried burning an IMG file about a month ago and had no problems with the process so could it be my system is messed up because i dont really have good virus protection so if anyone could let me no about that, that would be a real help cause i will reboot my system to day if that is the problem

Why don't you do your self a favor first and try some different brand of media than Memorsux's. Get some FujiFilm, Sony, or Maxell :-)
