have not tried it with my chipped PS2, but i know you can do it with my V7 PS2.
You will need to get DVDLoaderV7 and burn it to a DVD.http://members.cox.net/candrid2/index.html
you would also need swap magic
then:
1.put in AR Max
2.go to expert mode and choose game and start with codes.
3.when it askes for a disc press eject and put in Swap Magic DVD
4.when it asks for a disc put in DVD Loader
5.when it asks for a disc press eject put in Swap Magic DVD again
6. when it asks for disc put in the backup

ubless someone who has tried it on a chipped PS2 has a better method.

Yea, it workes great with a modded ps2. I got a v7 modded with a magic 3.1. It works awsome! helped me out with some tricky parts in Devil May Cry 3 (AMAZING GAME BY THE WAY). It may take a few times to load the ps2 backup from the master code screen, but it will eventually kick in.
