There's already a proper rip out. They just cut out the bonus movies. DVD5.

The guide for god of war DVD5 backup siads to left click all files and extract to folder. Do they mean left click all the files in the "iso" layer and then extract? The "iso" layer and the "mdf" layer seems to have the same files but lower cap in the mdf layer. I only have 1 gig free space on my computer with the 8 gig God of war image already. How much more do I need to free up?

I've been hearing about "bonus movies" being ripped.
What exactly are these movies? Are they part of the story in GoW, like cutscenes, intros and endings.. or just advertisements for some other game? Is it the logo crap at the beginning of every game?
Can someone elaborate...?

Mine froze as well.
Bummer actually. I really hope we can someone how find a way to crack this. Its a shame. Since you can't make a backup of a game you own.

could you reply back and let me know what you find?
"Bonus Movies" is incredibly vague.
Also, there's a part that the game is supposed to freeze up at halfway through...not sure if this is true or not, people are still trying to see if it's a BS rumor started by developers or if it's true.

someone needs to write up how to make a complete rip of this game.

things are conflicted with the DVD9 thing too. Nobody seems to be certain if you can burn this to DVD9 and it'll work...
there is a full DVD9 rip out there though.

Does anybody know where to get this DVD5 version of God Of War people are talking about? Looked on elitetorrents and torrentleech but both sites won't let me register because their "full". Are those the sites you found the dvd5 torrent on?

Word is that the genius Dvd5 stalls half way through too, and most ppl who have downloaded it have confirmed this too. Apparently all genius did was rip the bonus movies as seen here http://www.nforce.nl/?m=nfo&id=87176 but the problem still lies with the transition between layer 1 and 2 around the level pandoras temple which was not fixed. Looks like sony have got one over on us all...again. Back to the drawing board everyone!!

One sure solution is..
People who want play this kind of DVD9 game should buy DMS4 MOD CHIP, It can all play backed up DVD9 games(such as GT4, GOW), there is no other way.
DMS4 chip also supports DVD9 games...hope the price is going down..

anyone want to place guesses on when we will be able to "fix" this problem? I say by next month someone will have come up with new software, patches, or a guide. Maybe a dvddecryptor update would work.
PS2 V7
DMS3 V2
DVD Decrypter
Ritek G04s
(DVD-5 games work flawlessly, no need for workaround)
(DVD-9 is another story, searching for step-by-step tutorial)
XBOX
Xenium Ice
250GB Maxtor
GC (unmodded)
AMD Athlon 2600+
MSI KN72 Motherboard

Hey guys, I have a noob question. Is there anyway for a PS2 to play a DVD-9 disk without ripping it to a dvd5? like can the PS2 just read straight from dvd9 disk? (not the HD) This might be a dumb question but I assume most people don't have dvd9 burners so if you can tell me quickly I would appreciate it thanks and btw I did search for dvd9 info but alot of the info on the links were sort of irellavent.Thx!
