I have a Dell 4550 with a DVD-ROM drive and a DVD+RW drive. Now when I first got the computer up until about 6 months ago the computer played and read any DVD just fine and I was also able to burn DVDs. Right now it won't even read a DVD. Any DVD, copyrighted, burned, etc. Both drives read audio CDs and CD-ROMs just fine. However, I can't burn anything, not even a simple audio CD. Now I heard somewhere that Service Pack 2 will mess up DVD drives if you have DVD X Copy, which I do. Is this true? And if so, how can I fix it?

Duck tape is like the force, it has a light side, a dark side and it holds the world together.
