hi people,
im so very new to dvd burning so im sorry if this question sounds stupid.

my mate downloaded a film and i was just wondering how to use nero to put it onto a dvd-r to play in my dvd player it plays in windows media player.do i convert it to avi and then to dvd or what, i am sorry bout this.
i am a newbie and i just need a small boost in the right direction.
