@bmullenix download the trial of AnyDVD at slysoft.com.
Run that in the background - open Nero and use Recode. No other multi tasking.
Try that and let us know. You should have no problems.
For those of you that haven't been able to backup Being Julie, the following information might work for you. It did for me. I downloaded the latest version of DVD Decrypter and it went through the movie with no problem. I am now using DVD Shrink to shrink & burn it. Actually Nero will burn it. Hope this helps some of you that were as frustrated as I was. I didn't even know there was a new Arccos protection.
The solution below came from another DVD forum.
"Although I know that most people prefer freeware and almost everyone LOVES DVD Shrink, I wanted to make sure that, with the recent advent of the "Arccos" protection scheme, you all understand that DVDShrink is no longer a "one shot application" (It never really was. You have to use a separate burning program, such as Nero or DVDDecrypter [for .ISOs]).
Since DVDShrink (up to and including v.3.2xx) cannot directly process an "Arccos" protected DVD, DVDShrink users now have to resort to a "kludge" - first using DVD Decrypter v.3.52 to replace "Arccos" bad sectors (in a manner, by the way, that is apparently compatible ONLY with DVD Shrink) and then "rip" the DVD to your hard drive - and then use DVDShrink in conjunction with the files on your hard drive.
A FAR simpler solution, although it'll cost a few dollars, is to purchase and use DVD95Copy. It is TRULY a "one shot application" - "rip", compress, and burn (BUILT-IN) - and can easily handle DVDs with "Arccos" protection.
DVD Shrink continues to be a marvelous freeware program, with multiple capabilities - but it's not the ONLY solution..."
According to AnyDVD this disc has Arcos, Puppetlock protection. I used AnyDVD V4.6.3.1 in the background and DVD Shrink copied it to the hard drive with no problems at all and burned with Nero. Works fine. If you have an older version of AnyDVD it may not work.
Also, are you using the latest copy of DVD Decrypter?
One must ckeck to see if an update has been released.
AnyDVD will automatically check and download any need updates.
I had to upgrade to version 4631 AnyDVD and removed the 3 bad sectors along with a arcos lock. Now I backed it up.Guys, you need to update to the newest version!either AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter!thanks, mobfather
