I have been using NeroVision Express to make the simplest of menus, as I need no more, but would like to add some trailers.

Is there a site on the internet from which I can download trailers to my desktop?

Doing a search for "downloadable trailers" usually throws up a site who's idea of download is to play onscreen.

Of course I would like to download a decent trailer and include it as a menu option.

It seems you've both missed the question:

Is there a site on the internet from which I can download trailers to my desktop?

There's no point answering if you do not or cannot tell me how / where.

Is there one site better than others for them?

Thanks.

I think you are missing the point.

I am sure there are some sites that do have direct download links for some trailer's. I have seen them before, but don't remember where or what. There are many many more sites that stream trailers.

The point is that if you find a site with the trailer you want, and it only is streamed, that does not stop you from downloading that same trailer from that same site in most cases if you know what you are doing .

Downloading a video or audio that is normally streamed is known as streaming media recording.
There is even a forum that specializes in that sort of thing.

Have you tried visiting the websites of the movies you're trying to find trailers for? Most of the time, the official website of a movie will have the movie trailer on it.

From three comments, it is obvious I can download streamed trailers.

All three posts have seemed happy enough to tell me that I could, yet managed to forget something!

Indeed it is me who established the thread and point therein but, as each of the three posts has failed to tell me how to download or record streamed media, I maintain my question.

It seems pointless to tell someone that what he/she desires can be done but not how to do it.

I appreciate your time in posting, but it does not help at all.

If you do not remember which sites offer downloads, and cannot tell me how to download or record streamed media, why post?

Thanks anyway.

Does anyone know of a simple piece of software, as there always seems to be one, that can rip a streamed piece of media from a page?

For movies, would it be best to download the full screen or large trailers from the official sites or could the average sized ones, on sites like quicktime's movies, do?

Otherwise...

Is there a site on the internet from which I can download trailers to my desktop?

Sorry but I cannot condense all the information needed to record streaming media down to just this one post. I thought that posting the site where the information could be found would be enough. I guess I was wrong. If you refuse to go to where the information is then I think you will have to remain uninformed.

If you're using FireFox as a browser you can usually get embedded streaming media. On the page that the media is located you can right click, select view page info and you'll see something like this.....(this does not work on everything)

If you're using FireFox as a browser you can also get the FlashGot Extension. It will interface with some of the streaming media download managers like Net Transport, FlashGet and Reget Delux.

for movie trailers try www.movies.com or www.imdb.com and click on trailers at the bottom and u can search their database or just click on any title and u will get a good sized list of sites that feature movie trailers.

andmerr: "try camtasia studio"

zippyd: "If you're using FireFox as a browser..."

fishbulb: "for movie trailers try www.movies.com..."

Those are thoughtful and good pieces of information.

Thanks!
