I recently began backing up my Playstation 2 games but have found it to be a hit or miss cause of the disks that I'm using. I've been told that certain DVD-Rs are better for backing up Playstation 2 than others. Can anyone give me some advise on the best type to buy? Thanks in advance,

DonZe

I use maxell -r's, but i've heard of several that work well. I would just experiment around and see what your ps2 likes and then stick with them.

Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2
MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes

I use Datawrite Classic grey top 8x for movies, games, data etc. Used loads of different brands but they are the one's i get least problems with. i think u get a get a lot of problems with media until you shop around a bit and find one thats particularly suited to your writer(s) and the equipment you're going to use it on, i know i did. Also, beware of anything that has something like 'Ritek Super AAA++++ grade' plastered all over it, cos its normally been fake in my experience. The real pukka branded stuff isnt overstated on the packaging..

I've hardly ever had errors w/ Verbatim DVD-Rs but w/ Ridata DVD-Rs, 10-15% were bad burns.

i agree, had many problems with RiData discs. wont be buying them again. how much you pay for your Verbatim then Kfunk? ive seen them about but never brought any.. i know they do top class CD-R's, so if the DVD-R's are half as good, i'd be happy..

I prefer Sony or TDK, never had a bad burn using these 2 types, have had mixed success using Maxell and Memorex
