burning PS2 games to a DVD+R DL disc

has anyone successfully backed up a PS2 game to a DVD+R Dual Layer disc and had it work?

there are two games that i would like to back up that are on dual layered discs, and i want to make sure that i don't have a few $8 coasters if it won't work.

any input will be greatly appreciated! thanks!!

i tried backing up gran turismo 4 to a verbatim DVD+R DL disc to see what would happen. the ps2 logo pops up, then it's goes to the copy write screen, then goes black. i don't understand why it won't work...doesn't make much sense to me since it's an exact copy, and the games that are on a DVD5 back up fine =Þ

GT4 is no ordinary game,and i am still not convinced ps2's will read DL layer media anyways,
even though people claim they work
just stick with dvd-5

It's because chips can't read DVD-9 there is only one that can but it's a 40$ Extra... Better buy the game:p ;)
