dvd dosen't read any dvd

mydvd driver dosen't any blank dvd but will read cd music. when i try burning dvd it said it need a blank dvd but there one in the drive will someone please help me i'm pretty stupid at this thak you

Need some information...

What is the make/model of your DVD writer?
What is the brand/type of blank media you are using?
Will your drive read original DVD's?

it's a name brand but it a daul format dvd
sony and maxell and walmart brand nothing workes so far ican play original and burn copy

An easy and fast way to identify your drives.
1. Click on <Start> go to <My Computer>
2. Right click on any of your drives and select <Properties>
3. Now click on the <Hardware> tab

Here you will see all of your drives ?

The only DVD Writer I know with that model number is a BTC DVDRW drive. Any case you can go to this website http://www.btc.com.tw/english/3-1-4driver_download_dvd_dual.htm and click on the link for the live update program and it will let you know if you need to install the newest Firmware. My guess is that you do. :-)
