Will there ever be a copyright protection that is put on DVDs that cannot be bypassed? Will there ever be a uncopyable (if that's a word :P) DVD?

Also, does anybody happen to know when (or if) there will be a new copyright protection coming out in the US?

Let me put it to you this way, toasters...no matter what MPAA or the RIAA comes out with, it will be broken, ripped, chopped up, and fine grounded, because those copy protections are a joke.

Theres not a lot to worry about because by the looks of things we wont be using dvd's for too much longer anyway.

Getting back to topic, Macrovision's got Ripguard out there.

Look at it from this point of view, if data can be recorded to media, then it also must be readable from the same media, right?

So when the day comes they hammer us with nonreadable media were screwed.

I'd hate to be in that salesman's shoes.....trying to sell non-readable media. LOL

No matter what protedtion scheme they use the DVDs still have to play on a $29 player. Therefore, it can't get to far out. :-)
