mine backup of SP:CT works fine on my HDD using Mode 1 (single player), i havent tried the online version though.

I cant get the single player on eto work. I can get into the multiplayer on usic all three Modes enabled. But the SP version freezes at the initial loading screen. I made the .ISO, WinHIIP to HDD then patched with winHIIP. Could that be why? I also found an other patch on ps2nfo.com, using a single patch for both SP and MP (about 28mb unzipped)by DVDRICK. Would this one work better?

I patched my ISO on my pc and the transferred it to my ps2 HDD, that could possibly be the reason.
I havent used the other fix by DVDrick as I only want to play on the singleplayer, it could sort out your problem though.

I had the patches but I deleted them AGES ago, sorry man. U should b able to find the patches on some sites by googlin it.

All i can find is swap magic patches, and every website i check only has a swap magic patch....ill look around a bit more and see what i can come up with

I found the patch and applied it to my iso file, ill see how it works.
Edit: I transfered the image with WinHIIP and when i went to play it, all that showed up was a pink screen. I tried it with modes 1 and 3 enabled with no luck....that patch i used came from PS2Source, and it applied perfectly, i dont know what to do.

do u mean mode 1 and 3 at the same time? because I only have Mode 1 enabled and it works like that.

Yeah i tried mode 1, then mode 3 seperately, and then i tried them both and nothing worked. It might be with what i patched it. I used ApplyPPF3.exe in a dos prompt. Is that the right program or what? Possibly it could be the type of HDLoader im using. Im using the memory card exploit with a hack so that god of war and gt4 work on it. Which one do you have?

Navi95- do you know which swap magic patch to use? I have 2 of them: the first is DRK-SCU.PPF and is 21 mb. The second one is mrn-scct_SP.ppf and is 2 kb. I tried the first one with mode 1 in the toxic 0.2 core and it just showed up a black screen. I don't know whether or not i tried the second one, because i cant remember.

So far I've seen and tried 3 differnt patches of this game in .ISO format from HDL. The first one, found on ps2nfo.com, by DVDRICK (apx. 21mb) shows up a pink screen, I don't tkink this one works at all. The other two are separate .ppf patches on for Muli-Player(MP), and one for Single Player(SP). I've tested the MP patch using PPF-O-Matic (the proper way of patching) on an .ISO image of SC:CT on my pc with success. If you ever try booting up a game and get a solid black screen , you can probably fix it. Try different combos of compatibility modes, for the MP image it only works with all compatibility modes on. It souldn't matter if you have mode 3 on with any game, all it does is kill HDL atfer launch of game taking it out of memory to have a clean boot. The single player ppf hasn't worked for me, freezes at initial loding screen, I patched it with WinHIIP after tranfering to ps2, with I think is the problem. Navi95, did you use this patch with PPF-O-Matic then transfered to HDD? And does anyone know if you can unpatch a .ppf patched .iso (with o-matic or winHIIP)?

i applied the patch to the ISO before transferring it to the HDD, that could quite possibly be the problem.
Im not sure if you could remove the applied patch though.

I finaly got around to trying to make this work again. I was able to unpatch the SP patch from WinHIIP, copied the clean image back to PC, patch the clean image using PPF-O-MATIC with the SP swam magic patch, then transfered it back. I can now get into the firsst part but am not able to play it yet. It will pay about three videos at the start, then a loading screnn but sometime it freezes when the bar gets full, sometimes It gets past this and then you choos multipalyer or single/CO-OP, but always freezes on next loadeing screen after choosing single player. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
