is there any way to increase the encoding rate in dvd shrink

Buy a big ass CPU. ;-)

Encoding depends on CPU power, quality settings for Shrink, the amount of compression and the kind of action in the movie. The reader can also effect the rate. ROMs are faster reading than writers(if locked). Last but not least make sure the DMA is enabled.

What is your CPU and the rates you see encoding.

I have a Dell laptop. 2.6 gig intel celeron, 512 mb ram, and about 15 gig free hard drive space. What should my encoding rate be? I eventually get about 3300 kb/s. Does this sound right?? Thanks for any help.
