ps2: V4
flip top: from GO CYBER SHOP
games trying to backup: so far NHL 2005 and my TH underground
Media: Benq DVD +/- R, Ul Tran 4X DVD-R Media [4.7GB / Thermal Top]

I put the SM disc into the ps2 and press the power button. The ps2 intro and splash screen come up (just like a regular disc) after that the swap disc menu pops up I flip the top of the ps2 open put in my backup disc and hit load program, by pressing X. Thats were I'm stuck it wont load the program or it wont reconize the disc and if it does reconize the disc i.e. the memory card/disc select screen it wont load the game???? thanks for your help.

Yah, you'll probably want to stick with -r's until you get some working, because some v4's don't read +r's. Might want to try some verbatim datalifeplus, Philips, Taiyo Yuden, or HP's maybe. Also, stick with 4x max discs too, and burn at 1x with DVD Decrypter.

Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with SwapMagic, these boot discs work great. Some people who either couldn't figure out how to use them properly or haven't tried them may say otherwise though.

My discs are Ul Tran 4X DVD-R my burner is Benq DVD +/- R, and for some reason my burner wont let me burn any slower than 4X the selction is on the pull down menu in the programs I use, nero, A 120%, and DVDdycrypter but when I put the disc in it shows 4X and no other speed. I'm leaning towards bad media I think I got some skanky discs. what are good ones to use with a V4 ps2 (-r, or +r, fuji, verbatim) ????????

I have a v9 ps2. I use TDK, Sony, Fuji is not a good brand I still have like 40 of them left caz they dont work at all. My best choice would be TDK They are pretty cheap too. I got 2 x 50 pack for only $30.00 at Bestbuy. If you want to buy good backups go to.....

freewebs.com/ps2backups

Fuck This Shit..

Go to www.ps2backups.4t.com for backups.. Yea mad cheap too.

My ps2 likes +r better.
I used GTA:SA to test it.
On verbatim -r i had a lot of noises and skipping.
Switched to verbatim +r and it runs fine.
GTA:SA reads a lot off the disk while
playing the game.
This has only happened to me on a few games though.
