no no. there is a way. i just havnt researched or done it. windows is not compatable with xbox BUTT windows IS compatable with linux. :)
anybody see where im goin with this. install linux and then run windows off linux. i dont want to hear any arguing cause iv heard of it bein done. sorry i cant be more help but i just wanted to let you know it IS possible. ;)

your talking about something way out of control of any home brew stuff out there . the xbox is NOT a regular pc by any means , so you cant run "lunix then xp " just because you can do it on a regular pc . if you have seen this somewhere , give us a link . try xboxscene.com and see what they say.

Dang guys! come on... you want windows xp, then get a damn pc at best buy or fyr's electronics. Use xbox for games and enjoy your life.

so what's next? How do you use your xbox as a cell phone????

fact is that windows xp needs a minumum of 64meg of ram to run and the xbox has only that. Another thing is that the xbox ram is shared with the video.....so it really has about 48meg left over. Meaning that even if you have gotten winxp to run,it will be running so choppy and unstable that it isn't even worth it. That being said,learn linux and get gentooX.

It would be more realistic trying to get windows 98 on your xbox......you could always try putting Gentoox linux on your xbox and then run BOCh and have windows 98 emulated.

Let's say I have all the windows (98,200,xp etc) all in a diff partition in my hard drive, let's say i choose to use xp will they all use up ram or just what is presently being used (in this case, xp)

linux is an operating system, like unix. have you ever work with unix? solaris?

if you look closely at the Fry's Electronics ads on Friday, they offer a complete linux system with 256 meg Ram for around $199.00 ofcourse, this is for the system only not monitor.

but I think that when microsoft created xbox, it is only intended for games only. maybe there might be a way to make use of the xbox in another way, but as for me, games is all I need! :)
