Hi, just registered here today. Been reading these forms but havent really been able to patch together all the wee bits i have beeen reading. You will have heard all these questions before but was wondering it wud be a good idea to make this post a sticky so newbies can see it straight at the top. thanks in advance.

How can i backup my ps2 games? With these programs you suggest what exactly do i need to do? i hear you can backup faster than 2x y? does anyone know of a good place to buy media in the uk?

Thanks, i just got my swap magic v3.6 today so hence the questions, sorry for being annoying.

first of all get yaself a modchip

best place to go 4 that is bowlers in manchester

they do it in front of u and takes about 30 mins

for media ya want ritek g05

www.digitalpromo.co.uk in liverpool

the cheapest place ive ever known.

to copy a game get yaself DVD Decrypter its freely avaliable on the net

then put ya game in select iso read

rip it sumwere on ya comp

then wen its done put ya blank media in and select iso write, find the iso in the file ya saves it to and away ya go

burn at 4x speed that will be fine

cheers for the mod chip idea, but i live in belfast. no where i can get it chipped. what speed do i read the game when creating the image?

the best way to find a place to get ur machine chipped

is just look on yahoo

but finding a place could be hard coz modifing ps2's is illegal now

a computer fair is the best place to look.

its well worth havin it done coz ya dont have to add patches and etc to the games

and wen reading a game just let it read as the program wants to

if ya disk is mint it will read as quick as ur drive allows

but if the disc is scratched the program will slow the reading down

so it doesnt miss any info out

all my originals r mint and i read them at 12x speed and ive had no problems at all
