How can I use xbox live with the chip installed without being banned? How can I disable it?

i suggest to do some searching and possibly pulling up a guide im sure you can set the chip to sleep for playing xbox live.

Well, I'm thinking when the light is red it's undetectable and I was hoping someone would confirm it. I already tried searching too.

you can not play on live using a mod chip because it changes your bios and crap and live looks for the specific changes.

I know you can't. That why Im looking for a way to turn it off. I heard there was a way to do it and it seems when the light is red the chip doesn't work and the regular bios are being used. I just don't want to go on live and be banned, so I'm taking some precautions.

lol. yeah when the light is red your mod chip is turned off and you can go online. If you installed the chip yourself then the guide you used should have told you that.

if it is a x3 chip, hold the power button down to disable the chip...quick tap of power button enables chip.
