What media are you using, what burn speed are you using and is target size in DVD Shrink set at 4300??
And whilst burning are all background programs turned off.

It's the poor quality of media you are using, but you can cure these problem pretty simply in Shrink. You need to stay away from the edge of your DVD's because this is where the quality of the dye on the disk is worst.

You probably should even take it down to 4300MB to be safe :-)

Media is the blank DVD disc you are copying the movie to.

Oh it matters a great deal, poor quality media leads to poor copies.
Try some good stuff like TDK, Verbatim, Sony, Maxell, TY or Imation.
It will make a world of difference.
Good luck.

Belive me you are not alone in that assumption, but as bardie has already pointed out you are way off on your assumption. Quality media is the most important aspect of burning DVD's.

Here are a few suggestions for you,

Buying Online
Taiyo Yuden (genuine TY?s there are fakes out there so beware)
Ritek G04 brand these would be the x4 disks again beware of fakes
Prodisc 2nd class media, but newer media x8 seems to work well for people

Buying at the store (Best Buy, Office Depot, Wal-Mart ect.)
Fuji film ? Manufactured by Taiyo Yuden, MCC, Ricoh Japan, Prodisc, Fuji Film all fairly good manufacturers
Maxell ? Manufactured by Maxwell, Ritek, RicohJapan, Taiyo Yuden
TDK ? Manufactured by TDK, Ritek, RicohJapan, Maxwell, MCC, CMC Beware of the CMC brand
Verbatim ? MCC, CMC, TY, RicohJapan, Ritek again beware of CMC which it seems Verbatim is using more frequently lately.
Sony - RicohJapan, MCC, Sony

Note: A good rule of thumb when purchasing your media in the store is to look for ?made in Japan or Singapore? stay away from ?made in Taiwan or Hong Kong? When buying online always try and get ?Branded? media this way you can be sure you are getting the genuine article. There is an exception to that rule and it would be Taiyo Yuden disks. You just need to buy from a reputable dealer when buying online. Here are a few I have bought from with good experience. Of course it isn?t going to be the same for everyone.

Supermediastore.com ? Rated number 1 just about anywhere you look.
Rima.com ? Fast and cheap good service
Mertline.com ? Little slower on shipping, but quality media

Ones you should stay clear of
Shop4tech.com ? Let?s just say you get what you pay for.. I received fake TY?s from them

You can try to keep using them, but set your target size down in Shrink as I showed you earlier, and burn at the slowest speed possible. If you still have problems with them you can always sell them to some unsuspecting fool on Ebay :-)

hehehe...bbmayo...should i try to dish off my fake TY's on ebay as well? i wonder if anyone would even pay for them...hahaha...

based on the scans i asked you about and posted up, it could of even fooled you as being real huh? (from the other thread, if you remember :P)

anyways, to the originator, just backing up everything bbmayo stated...100% correct. best of luck in future burnings, get some TY's if you can...but, don't buy from me, since i will be selling these fake TYGO2s i got to someone less knowing...shhhhhh

ok so i know its not a problem from it being the end of the disk cause i just burned one that was only 2243 big. it still skipped at the end of the movie, and i even burned it on a fuji i bought this morning. the first hour and a half played beautifully but the last 20 mins skipped bad.

Do you possibly put labels on your DVD's?

Also how much compression do you have on your DVD backup's?
