Hi,
I recently have been trying Xilisoft DVD Ripper to save as AVI. I have a vob on my Hard Drive, and I open it with Xilisoft.
The problem is that when I try to encode a segment, I can set the FROM section and LENGTH section but not the TO section--I guess it depends of the duration(LENGTH) set.
Anyway, I make the settings and it encodes but NOT from the starting point I set in FROM section. It always encodes from the beginning. I have tried different VOBS and get the same results.
Other than that it is useful.

If you want a clip, please choose "Encode Segment" in File menu, then enter the beginning time and the duration of the song. For example, you want a clip from 00:20:20 to 00:35:00, you should enter From 00:20:20 and the Length is 00:14:40.

The "To" input box of "Encode Segment" window seems that not allowed to edit when the software was designed, I think.
