Hi folks,

I have recently swapped my sons Xbox for a chipped PS2. Its not a solder chip as it used the swap magic discs by holding in the eject button.

It came with a few backups and they all work ok.

I got the following games today (originals)

Splinter Cell: Chaos theory
Uefa Championship thingy

I backed them up as described in Alcohol 120% to an mdf image and burnt them.

Uefa boots but just says loading
Splinter Cell boots to the menu when I select single player it asks for a playstation 2 disk (pink screen)

So I then downloaded FIFA Streets and burnt the iso in Nero, this boots but freezes.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Any ideas what im doing wrong?

Ok so I had an idea I converted the Chaos Theory MDF image to an ISO image using Magic Iso and then applied a PAL patch by Riko?

Screen shows pink on swap magic and wont boot?

I am really stuck here.

Thanks for any advice

PS - Swap magic dvd is version 2 do you think 3.3 will fix my problems?

My advice is, before you burn a game and potentially waste a DVD, Google the game and find out if you need a fix for it or not. Or you can always use the search function on these forums. Just type the name of the game, if there's a problem, chances are, someone had it before. You can also doublecheck here http://swapmagicfix.com/

Thanks for the help folks, I am going to try to get swap magic dvd version 3.3 upwards. If anyone has it and fancies squashing it to an iso and emailing it me that would be a help.

I am burning at 2x at the moment and the discs are decent.

I used alcohol but it didnt ask me what the disk type was?

I think I am going to use dvd decrypt as this seems to cure most faults but I think I will hae to try it.

yes, swapmagic disk's are factory pressed, and you need the original to boot it,thus making the copy useless

and yes, soldered mod chips are the best way to go,in my opinion

DMS now has a new option for the soldering impared too. It is a no solder mod chip that has all of the same features as the DMS4 pro chip has. I was quite amazed when i read the features on it.
check this out for more info,
