as was said in previous the second layer has to be written reverse to what the burner is doing, some one said that they used an editor to read the second ISO, create a small program that will uses the editor to read the file and then have it copy the info starting at the bottom of the file and work backwards. Then save it as the ISO and burn it this way the info goes on in the proper order. Not a programmer so not sure how hard this would be

The second layer is written in ptp
(parallel track path).
No home burner can write that method.
they burn using an otp method.
It simply would not work.

Basically the difference in PTP and OTP is where the information is wrote to the disc. Wouldn't it be possible to create a iso of a dual layered DVD, and actually tell the software where on the disk you want each file written to. Even though a home burner is incapable of writing in PTP format, couldn't we make a OTP writer write anyway we want?

Actually you might be able to,but still it wouldn't work for Swap Magic probably from the size of the game.It could be done if you made an image from the actual PS2,an emulated image. That would be even harder to do though, since you would be constantly messing with hardware. As for making it burn that way, even the burner would probably need some kind of firmware patch to make it write at PTP.All the dvd burners that are available only support OTP at the momment, and no there is no firmware out that supports PTP right now.If all the files are extracted from the game, then maybe we could make an image in OTP and get the game playing. Not sure though, still the game hasn't been backed up for HDD or Swap Magic users without the use of a DMS4 modchip with the ToxicOSv0.3.I do believe sooner or later the ToxicOSv0.3 will be available for HDD users, then probably Swap Magic peeps last it seems.
