Does skipping mean that I have bad media? I made a burn of R&C UYA and during the intro sequence it skips alot. I have a v9 PS2 using SM 3.3 and Verbatim DVD-R. Many people here have sworn by the Verbatims and they work wonders in my XBOX 1.0. I haven't actually tried going into the game as I was just seeing if it worked. But Memorex, and TDKs work really good in my PS2, so I am wondering why Verbatims wouldn't?

Newer games read more off the disk.
Use +r media (if possible)
And burn at 2x max speed

ver5 and up can play +r.
Some ver4 too.
It all depends on the LASER.

People saying about +R's dont play well on the 1st consoles? When I had my older PS2, I had that when it was 1st released and used +R's on it without a problem for well over a year...hmm

I heard also that some of the very first of the v1 the laser could read backups also.(without a chip.)

If you were able to get ahold of one of those
you are lucky.

When I had swap magic on my flip top I found that DVD+R wouldn't work for some games. I would try them on DVD-R and they would work perfectly. Now that I have a DMS4, both types seem to work good. I think it really depends on what version playstaion you have, what game it is, and what brand of media you are using. Some things work better for others.
