don't want to make this thread go on as there's the official thread now, but there's also (free) dvd decrypter to try. Your disc could be dirty, scratched etc, give it a careful clean and try decrypter.
edit- i wish i could delete this post now as i've made this thread go on now !
I repeat. Go find a program called AnyDVD v 4.6.3.1.
Yous disk is not dirty or scratch. Sony Entertainment tries to stop people from backing dvd's up by putting in a css protection key. It the same with Resident Evil, Suspect Zero, Hotel Rwanda, Ocean's Twelve.
They Are starting to do it with all the movies now.
You can tell, when on the back it has a small picture of a black dvd and a gray dvd with a red circle with a line though it.
- not 100% correct - see Official Spanglish Thread -
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/178337I've seen a few posts of your today pushing anydvd as THE only option. Now you're stating that there aren't dirty or scratched discs out there. Not correct my friend
no need to pay for AnyDVD when you can just rip it to your hard drive with DVD Decrypter then shrink it with DVD Shrink......works every time for me when i have trouble with a Sony disk
If you are getting CRC errors which are almost always disc related, then using AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter or a Crystal Ball won't help you. None of these programs will clean, degrease or repair scratches.
Some may be less sensitive than others but not by much. Probably more dependent on the sensitivity of the DVD reader you are using. Solution? Clean or get a different disc.
