Hi,

Ive been using DVDshrink for over a year now without any problem. Just recently though, for some reason unknown to myself, dvdshrink has start to read at a slower rate (currently reads at 2200 KB/S, usually used to read at 3500-3600 KB/S). Ive had a look through all the options on dvdshrink, but i cant seem to find anything that allows me to alter the read rate. What could be causing dvdshrink to read at a slower rate?

Id be grateful for any advice on this problem.

Note: i only started to experirence this problem after i used dvddecrypter the first time to back-up a movie (the forgotten), could this have altered the read rate of dvdshrink?

I doubt it. Do you have any extra background programs running that you didn't before? Have you checked for viruses? Sometimes a fragmented hard drive will act like that too.

I dont run any other programs when dvdshrink is running, i might check for viruses, but ive got a feeling that is not the problem.

I might sound like a bit of a novice here, but what do you mean exactly when you say de-fragment the harddrive? what do i need to do?

if you're using Windows xp --> Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disc Defragmenter. Other OS's, probably something similar.

Also, check for malware and make sure the drives are set to DMA.

And make sure to read the forum rules. Don't multipost again.
