Hey everyone,
I recently backed up my DDS for my playstation 2 with Memorex DVD-R at 4x speed.
I got a problem though... the backup loads EXTREMLY SLOW... loading times are really bad for some reason and fine on the original. (the game loads, just loads really slow)
I am using Swap Magic 2.0 (i think)
Does anyone know whats wrong? Is there a certain brand or speed im suppose to burn it at? Thanks.

Use better media. (Memorex is not good for ps2 backups)
BURN AT 2X MAX <---(IMPORTANT)
I use verbatim and fujifilm (see the pic below)

http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list.
Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:

MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

It's interesting, Previous Memorex DVD's have worked VERY good, On the list you gave me Maxell is 1st class but most games i backup with it, 1/2 of them work...
But anyways, thanks for the info, ill try some Maxell.

memorex and Maxell Outsource to other Vendors.
They use some good companies (Ricoh-jpn),
And some TERRIBLE companies.(CMC).

Thats why i use verbatim.
If they are real branded they will be (MCC) manufactured.

get a program called dvd identifier.
(availible in the software section here).
See what manufaturer you Memorex's and maxell's are,
I guarantee the bad ones will be CMC manufactured.

I buy verbatim or fujifilm +r and i know what i am going to get every time.

Make sure you burn at 2x also.

Good luck

thats funny cause all my backup's are memorex dvd-r and they work just fine....i guess everything works different for everyone....might want to burn at 2x instead of 4x regardless on what ppl say that they burn at 4x and at 6x and so fourth i wouldnt risk it...2x speed is the for sure way to go and if memorex isnt working for u then try something different...they work fine for me dont see why they wouldnt work fine for everyone else
