I am continually getting the same messages. "Burn process at 4x failed", then when I try 2x i still get error messages. It takes me 3 tries and rebooting sometimes to finally get a burn to go through.

Here's the log .. whaddup ??

Nero has a tool that will remove InCD. That app interferes and should be removed before doing anything else.

That burn log looks complicated doesn't it. Here are the things that I noticed.

Nero Version: 6.6.0.8 (Nero Express)
Recorder: <TOSHIBA CD/DVDW SD-R5372> Version: TU31 - HA 2 TA 0 6.6.0.8

Your Nero is now out of date, a newer version was just released.
Your firmware version is TU31 the current is TU55.
Upgrade from Toshiba:

http://www.toshiba-europe.com/storage/Index.asp?page=PDM&nav=RSC_PDL&stype=product&ptype=&frame=content&model=SDR5372&slang=EN

Disc Manufacturer ID: RICOHJPN
Media type ID: R01

This is usually OK media.

Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)
Sense Code: 0x0C

These codes indicate a write error and Nero spells it out:

6:18:26 AM #18 CDR -1135 File Writer.cpp, Line 311
Write error
-------------------------------------------------
If you did not use this tool, then now is the time:

http://nero.com/us/General_Clean_Tool.html

Follow the instructions on the page.

While you are at it get these as well. They can be run at any time and will not hurt your Nero installation:

http://nero.com/us/Driver_Clean_Tool_and_RegistryChecker.html

This entire problem may be the result of bad media so try and find some -RW discs. Get some quality stuff. Here is what ScubaPete wrote:

A good grade, Hi-quality media is needed for DVD reproduction! RiData, Phillips, Sony, "Branded" Ritek G04's or "Branded" Verbatim Data Life, Verbatim DataLife plus, Taiyo Yuden's and generally, almost any discs manufactured by Mitsubishi or RICOH are excellent bets. Among the better discs we're looking for, any media boasting "Advanced Metal AZO" - BUT it must say "METAL" AZO !, this indicates a superior dye and dye application on a good composite disc, while they are sometimes a bit "pricey" they are just the type of media we're looking for to do our DVD backups, Prices online from Meritline.com OR Newegg.com have gotten Ritek G04 starting at about a $ .45 (USD) a disc-

For DVD backups, purchasing inexpensive media or even average media is a gamble, some people win BUT the majority lose, they lose varying amounts true but, they still lose :-(

Using good grade media can guarantee you one thing to an absolute certainty; it surely cannot hurt.
The last thing I would do is the firmware upgrade. At some point you may want to do this but only if you really need it. Please read what it says at the Toshiba website carefully.
