The ISO seems to be the dreadful 4.35GB. I tried rebuilding it, but it comes out at a measly 1.38GB. Is that proper? I don't want to burn it, only to find out it doesn't work. I'm not a fan of wasting DVD's.

Anybody know for sure what should be done?

It seems that ISO's around the 4.35-4.38GB size tend to give problems. NBA Street V3 is 4.35GB and won't work. But if you extract it and rebuild it, it's only 2.38GB and works fine.

I tried burning it in it's 1.38GB state, and it didn't work. However, I tried this on a DVD+RW because I don't want to waste a DVD-R. After hitting 'X' in SM3.6 it just spun the disc at a slow rate, and didn't read it.

At least I know the regular 4.35GB ISO doesn't work either. I thought it needed a patch, but didn't see anything on swapmagicfix.com.

Don't use rw's. The ps2's have a problem reading them. They're hard on the lasers.

Just make sure the first layer Layer0 and the second layer Layer1 have the same files for both layers. If they are different then you will run into problems, not sure though don't have the game yet.I will soon though Dead to Rights is awesome.

if it works then it must be due to a different version of swap magic. What versions work?

Thanks for the info vander666. I burnt my 1.38GB rebuild onto a DVD-R, and it boots great. I haven't had a chance to play it yet to see it works properly, but I'm sure it will.

Anyone have an explaination for why a 4.35GB ISO only contains 1.35GB of data? And why does extracting it and rebuilding it make it so much smaller?

how did you know which files to make in the final iso? did you just do the .000 and .001 ones, how do you know which ones to copy?

After you run it through CDVDGEN, you combined all the *.000, .001, .002 files. However many you end up with. In the case of DTR2, it'll be just a *.000 and .001. When I did NBA Street V3, I had 3 files though, *.000-*.002.
