Sounds like you may have a bad disc. Try cleaning the disc first. If that doesn't work try DVD Decrypter (freeware).
You can also try Scuba Pete's suggestion: (dvd decrypter needed) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/124000
You can also search for this error - many have posted about it.

You most likely got a hold of a scratched/dirty/or a plain old bum disc.

I've done that one and there was nothing special about the encryption. DVD Shrink and Nero are my programs and Main-movie only.

Try cleaning the disc with a soft cloth and mild cleaner like windex.
Look for scratches or any other blemishes.May be a big fat fingerprint on it.

If it still give's you a crc error, then try DVD Decrypter.

Here's some guides for dvd decrypter: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html

If the default settings don't work after you download it, then try:

Open up dvd decrypter/tools/settings: On the css tab-tick "BRUTE FORCE".......While you are still there, click on I/O tab- and tick the box that says: "IGNORE READ ERRORS" and give her a try.

Cyclitic redundancy check means there is a bad spot on that dvd. Your program is going around in circles trying to get through that bad spot/s. After so long,it will error out. Some of the newer releases are also giving us the same "CRC" error- SPANGLISH being the latest. The newest DVD Decrypter will rip right through these.Yours should be something wrong with your original backup disc, unless you are re-copying from another backup.
