kivory666,

if you don't mind my asking, what in the world do you do with so danged many DVD blanks anyway? Are you running a business or something? :)

I've burned around 250 and feel like it's all I ever get done. I can only imagine what it would take to burn upwards of 2000 or more. LOL

I wouldn't ask what people do with so many disks... Maybe you could take an intelligent guess...

i own a massive dvd collection, while some collect stamps/coins/cards/cds/etc., i collect dvds. i can safely say my personal home collection, i have close to what any blockbuster/hollywood video store would carry, i have my own dedicated home theater room in my house to store everything and watch whatever seems to be appropriate at the time; and i also own a production company, so yeah, that should answer your question :P

happy burning~

Sorry Kivory, I was insinuating anything, it's just that a lot of people use DVDs for purposes other than backing up their personal collection if you know what I mean!

It is difficult to put people on the spot like that.

no harm no foul~ no offense taken, i have already had QUITE A FEW people "rudely suggest" that i shouldn't be doing what i do..but, since i legally PURCHASE all my dvds from various online and retail outlets, i am legally entitled to backup my OWN personal collection by law~ :)

it's all good, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and they can think whatever they want~ don't hate the playa, hate the game if some people aren't as excessive as i am~ :)

AD has given me so much good information and advice through these forums and i just want to give back a little through my experience with various dvd-medias~ what works for me may NOT always work for everyone else, but, im just happy to share my own experiences and tips regarding media for those that can benefit from it~

good day to you slimbim, i don't have enemies here on AD, no need to apologize~

Hey, it never crossed my mind he was doing anything illegal. My curiousity got the best of me I guess. Besides, who in their right mind would come to a place like this and brag about doing it if they were?

For sure I'm not trying to make any enemies. Life is too short for all that. Sorry if my question seemed I was suggesting, rudely or otherwise, that you were a felon. :)

I have done some investigating on the Burnmaster brand.

They are going to drop the 'Based on TDK' 16x discs due to lack of demand.

Also the Taiyo Yuden 8x are genuine but they are from a value line that isn't for general consumption and TY won't guarantee them at any speed!

They are a one off batch that won't be seen in the market again.

Basically they were graded genuine TY discs.

SlimBim...

Can you elaborate on this?? So the Burnmaster TYs are an off batch?? But the have the same serial number and media code as the TYs I grabbed from RIMA and the TYs that others have accounted for.
May I ask where you got your info from???? I am still interested in this brand.

Yes they may be the same batch number but they were not deemed good enough by TY to be labelled as A Grade media.

It's not like they purposely manufacture B or C Grade materials!

My information comes from a source very close to the Fukushima factory.
It's backed up by an email I received from All Media Outlet saying that their stocks of Burnmaster are running low and that they are trying to find another source themselves.

i ran DVD-Identifier and this is what it came up with below......

@ freedom

i have yet to receive what i feel are "fake" ty's from supermediastore. those are the same ones that i have thousands of...as you indicated..the serial numbers closely resemble mine.

all my spindles came in the shrink wrap spindle, no casing...don't let the "value disc" worry you too much~ :)

my software indicate the same graph as yours.

you got lucky on the total bill~ a billing error that worked to YOUR benefit~

try em' out, they should be just fine~

good day to you

new here but would like to let you know that i did get some burnmaster 50 spindle dvd-r x8 from allmedia and in my opinion it is genuine TY, DVD Decrypter reads the manufacturer as TYG02 and on the disk the numbers read as GG000103. I have burned over half of them and no coasters or anything w/ my pioneer 107, they play fine on all my dvd standalone players.i got a 50 for 21$ w/ ground shipping and they came in very fast, this is my 5th purchase with allmedia and i am very satisfied so far, they notified me when the item was ready to ship and provided me with a tracking # as well.

P.S. if anybody more techy things they are fake let me know.

i think you got the real deal meltstorm, as i have said MANY times in the dvd-media forum, this topic of real and fake TYs has been beaten to death and EVERYONE seems to have an opinion about it.
as long as they seem to work GREAT for you, then stick with it~
people are saying that these OEMs are not considered "Grade A" by Taiyo Yuden, ok..so they aren't the "Cream of the Crop"...but, at least they REAL even if the quality are below the high standards TY uses for "marketable media for general consumer consumption"

i bet the "grade B or grade C" by TY is still hellava lot better than the "grade A" by many other manufacturers. (ie cmc mag, princo, no name local brands, etc)

just go with what works for you, i think it is not worth MY time nor ANYONE else's time to argue about real or fakes, i had a really bad arguement on here about the FAKE TY's i have with another member...and after it was all said and done, nothing was accomplished and i was even more frustrated at proving my point than i started out to begin with. :P

if they work well for you meltstorm, than terrific~ you are one of the lucky few that has found a good, reliable, compatible media for your own personal uses. congrats~

i think they are real, genuine TYs..regardless of the quality mentioned by others...good luck w/ your future burns...that is my 2 cents on this subject and i will not continue to argue with anyone else further on this matter.

unfortunately for me, i have not had the good experiences you have had with allmediaoutlet...but, that again, is just MY experience...i never got my order for the burnmasters as you have (i ordered over the phone for a small sample pack and paid less than $10...which i never received, gave up after that~).

have a good one

in not any way i intended my post to create arguments kivory666, i just want it share my experience with the burnmaster media made by TY, i hope it can help other members in making their decision about a purchase of this brand, but as we all know we all have different experiences with online purchases, in no way i am saying or predicting that my next purchase from there will be 5 stars, i will purchase next week the same media but the +r type and will post my findings here as to what i got or like in your case if i get my order. take care

sorry if you took it the wrong way, i was in NO WAY intended to imply that you were arguing w/ me or anyone else, i can see where i misworded my reply and for that i apologize.

much like you, i am only sharing MY personal experience w/ various online outlets as well as store bought purchases...please let us know how your new ones are as well when you order them~

i wish you the best of luck with your future burns and i am sorry if you took my response in an offensive way, that was not my intent. :)

well i think i am going to skip on a purchase of those burnmasters. i just got me some sony -r 8x 50 pack from circuit city for 20 bucks. the - is made in japan, but the +r is made in Taiwan. i figure if it's made in japan that is good enough for me, and made in japan is rare when it comes to dvd media in store. later guys.
