This game comes in at 4.36GB, which spells trouble. I rebuilt it and the actual game reduces down to 1.38GB. The game now play sfine using flip-top/swap magic.

yes very strange, but this seems to be common (the 4.3 G problem and the rebuilds being tiny files) i have decrypter and iso buster, but havent been able to figure out cdvdgen yet, i have the .rar file of it but dont know where to go from here. It seems like a good idea to rebuild every game you burn though, any help is appreciated if you know how to make cdvdgen work

nswolter if u read the god of war thred it with tell you how to copy on cdvdgen god of war then you use the basic setting for every other game when you go to volume tab where disc name is the scus 97399 changes for every other game it start with scus but the number will be differt for differt games

yeah the problem was that i didnt have WinRAR, so i couldnt extract the .rar files i was finding for cdvdgen, got her now though. i did have a question maybe somebody can answer quick- for the battlefront rebuild you have to copy STAR.000 and STAR.001 to one iso, do you always do these 2 files, or all of them? For example i am doin tiger 2005 and it has from .000 to .004, which ones do i copy?

On a hard-modded PS2, the 4.35GB ISO's work though? It's only SM that they need to be rebuilt? I never knew that...

i dont have much experience with swapmagic,i have a modchip, and i never have any bother,
swapmagic is a pain in the ass

using games with swapmagic is too much hassle for me,there sems to be more and more games that are troublesome with swapmagic, thats why they are reduced in size

That's true. Most backup issues are with SM. That's what I use and granted it's kind of a P.I.T.A, but it's better than nothing. ;)

I've only owned my PSTwo for about 3 weeks, so I wasn't about to throw my warranty out the window for a mod-chip. Maybe in a year, after my SM disc is all scratched up, and when all DVD9 issues are worked out...

as for the warranty, its true what you say,
but i look at it this way,.........
if you buy it from a shop that asks no questions, like argos in the u.k
and you get a modchip,
and it breaks, they are never going to tell, they will just give you a new one.
and they are not exactly expensive anymore,
if mine breaks,i will just go out and buy a new one

A DVDr will hold a maximum of 4.38GB.

As for having the star.000, star.001.....you join all of them you have. If you also have say star.003, you would include that and all of them.

I mean if something goes wrong with my PS2 and I have a modchip, SONY wouldn't replace it for me. It's not the modchip I'm worrying about breaking. I don't really have $200 (Canadian) to spare to go out and buy another PS2. Plus with all the rumours I hear of PSTwo's overheating, I don't want to chance my warranty. I'm actually wishing I would have taken Future Shop's extended, in-house warranty.

Where are people getting this overheating info. from? I have never in my life had a ps2 that I chipped overheat. The chances of that happening are very slim to none. The only problem that occurs more regularly is in the v12 slim ps2's, and that had to do with the laser going out after a chip install, but they have a fix for that now....

Where are you getting "chipped PS2's" from? I never said anything about Modchips causing overheating.

Also if you note, I said "PSTwo". PS2 = regular. PSTwo = slim.

Oh, my bad. So many people on here don't speak what I would call "good english" so I wasn't sure when you said "PSTwo" that you meant the new system. And if you solder everything in correctly, including the "resister fix" then you will have no problems at all. I have done 4 already and nothing has gone wrong...

Hey is anyone having trouble with loading the second board? I have the rebuilt ISO and it won't load past the second screen using SwapMagic and the DVDLoader program.

follow this guide

WHAT YOU NEED

dvd decrypter
iso buster
nero (burning rom)
good quality media

step 1

make a new folder on the desktop, and use DVD Decrypter to make an iso image.....MODE>ISO>READ,.....put the image in the folder,if you are comfortable in finding the image on the hardrive, then dont make a folder on desktop.....its just easier this way.

step 2

make another folder on desktop, name it whatever the game is called.ie dead to rights 2

step 3

open up iso buster and browse for the iso image you just made,
open it.....you should see a long list of files on the right hand side(that is the breakdown of the iso image)....i.e lots of folders etc etc.

now we need both iso buster open and the empty second folder open on the pc screen,...so you should have in front of you,iso buster with a list of folders and the empty second folder

step 4

now from the list of folders in iso buster, drag and drop them one by one over to the new folder,in the same order they are listed,so start at the top and work your way down to the bottom, this may take some time,as iso buster will extract the files over.

now this new folder contains the rebuilt game you have just made with iso buster,.....check the size!!!!...it should be much smaller than the one you started with

step 5

now we have to burn it......
open up Nero, and select NERO BURNING ROM
you will see a window pop up with the title new compilation...on the left hand side, there is a list of options, dvd rom,dvd copy etc.....we want the bottom one DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO).click it..then click NEW,(top right)

step 6

you will now see a new window with 4 columns,
now find the folder which stores the game.i.e dead to rights 2,and open it up.
you should see a list of folders again, like before

step 7

in Nero, the first column on the left, titled "new"..this is where we want to place the game folders
so drag and drop them over, one by one, starting from the top working your way down...so now you will see a few folders in the first column, but also so a few in the second column, dont worry about that, its just the breakdown of the folders content

step 8

now we have all the folders ready to burn...(the blue bar at the bottom should read as the same size as the second folder which contains the rebuilt game.i.e 1.5 GB,if it is in the red,it means you have not selected DVD in the opening page of nero)
in Nero there is an emblem with a dvd/matchstick figure, click it.
it may give you the message,"error, you about to burn a multi session disc".blah blah.just burn it anyways.

step 9

make sure the settings for your usual burning preferences are set.i.e speed, turn off internet etc.......and off you go,burn the sucker
