Ok, let's get it straight:

1. Someone gave me a DVDR with the game, that works in his modded PS2.
2. Tryied to play it in my PSTwo (Slim) with the SwapMagic 3.6 DVD. Result: Not a valid PS2 disk.
3. I did search in this forum for clues. Found SoR's patch, a ppf file to apply to the game's iso. So I copied the DVDR to my HD as an ISO file. Then used the program that patches iso files with the ppf files. Burned in Nero (Express). Result: Not a valid PS2 disk.
4. Replaced DUMMY.BIN with a text file. I made sure the extension is BIN, not TXT. Burned in Nero. Result: Not a valid PS2 disk.

I'm running out of ideas. Anyone has more ideas? Or spotted something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for any advice, and sorry for posting another topic about this game.

I'm looking for the patch for Shadow of Rome. I have made a back up copy and when utilizing swap magic it dosn't load. I have also attempted utilizing the newest dvd loader out there and this failed also. Can any one tell me where I can get the patch or fix?

Sorry Overwhelm I don't know how to help you.

Overwhelm,

I have the same setup as you and I have backed up Shadow of Rome.

You need to open the Dummy.bin file with notepad, delete all the stuff in it, add a space or something save it and rebuild the game as stated in the thread here:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/173020

you eill see that you may have more star.*** files than in the thread (its for god of war) but just add them as it says in the thread.

Not a valid disc normally appears if you put a small DVD game on a CD or vice versa

I'm trying to make a copy of Shadow of Rome.
I'm following the directions to make a dummy file.
But when I move the files from ISOBUSTER to a folder, it says Error-Check Destination-Full, Write-Protected.
How do I make it not full, write-protected?
Thanks.
