Neo2.2 GS2 DVD reading problem -help-

Hello everyone ,
My question is : my PS2 has NEO2.2 modchip installed , and Im using Game Shark 2 v1.0 to load backups. everything worked fine with regular CD backups , but when I use the DVD decryptor to read and burn from an original PS2 game (instructions followed properly) the DVD wouldnt read , it just stuck there on the "Press X to continue" screen.. Anyone have any idea what's the problem ?

i didnt realise the neo 2.2 booted backups of dvd,not all neo's anyways

thanks.. but theres no place around here I could get GS 1.99 (I use 1.0)
I can buy a new chip thu. I heared there are chips that boot up the DVDR backup with no swapping tricks etc

do you recommand that ?

thats what i have,
a messiah 2 modchip,boots anything
its quite old now,and there are more up to date chips,
just search around and see whats best for you

one more thing thu.
sometimes when I put in the GS2 disc (original)
the ps2 wont read it..(only read it after a number of retries)
could my laser be damaged or somthing ?

the more likely cause is the disc is damaged
