@handcontr: DVD Decrypter does not compress the movie, it just gets rid of the encryption and puts it on your hard drive. Then you use DVD Shrink to compress it. If you need help check out some guides in my sig.

I'm trying to rip Band of Brothers using AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter, but it's going really slowly (<64 KB/s). Any suggestions?
Thanks!

@ handcontr:
Did you got original DVDs or burned discs? Sounds as the latest.
el_pablo:
Check out your DMA settings.

cynthia:
I checked my DMA settings: all normal. Let me give a better explaination:
I can usually rip any disc at about 4x, and band of brothers rips that fast until it gets about halfway through vts_01_03.VOB and the problem continues through the rest of the vts files. Any further suggestions?

Sounds as it has a hard time to read the disc. Tried to clean it?

@el_pablo: maybe a defective original press. I've had those before, looks like nothing wrong on the disc physically, might even play just fine but you can't rip it. Check ScubaPete's guides (link is in my sig) for where he talks about tweaking Decrypter. That might break through your problems.
