Hello, does n-e-one know how I may force DVD-Decrypter to burn at 1x speed so that I wont get skip problems. I put it to 1x but it just ends up writing up to 4x. I use Taiyo Yuden TYG01. thanks...

when youre recording games with decrypter notice the buffer(the blue bar at the bottom ) and make sure that doesnt go under 100%(or as close to 100% as you can get it).you can adjust the read speed of decrypter to compensate for high write speed.

can u elaborate on this a bit more???
i cant see why adjusting the read speed will affect the burn speed,
as when reading the buffer is not really used,
the buffer can move,thats why we have buffer underun,to allow for this,just in case the data transfer bottlenecks,and causes the buffer to fail,
and reading the game data and burning it are 2 different things

If they were fakes then I guess the games wouldn't even play at all on the ps2. It loads up but I get skips in the FMVs. The dvds only support 4x writing, which is why I was wondering if there is a way to force them to lower. I have a Lite-On 1633s with firmware upgraded to the most recent version. I've been having problems recently though, I believe this program that came with the action replay may be to blame, it wanted me to install some Aspi layers that came with it. After that, my burner seems to be going haywired. But to tell the truth, I did that only a week ago and my computer is also shared with someone else that doesn't really know much about komputers and he kould've done n-e-thing to mess it up. Will I need to reset my aspi layers and how if I must. I installed the adaptec aspi layers when I started to have these problems to try and fix them, also my dma settings where changed for some reason and fixing that fixed up some problems from before. N-e-thing to do will help.

@hursty
a better way of putting it,is to lower the read speed so you can get a good copy of the iso to the hd.

man ya'll are dense. write speeds are limited by the drives' firmware.

i know what you meant,but i have to disagree,
when transferring data to hardrive,thats all you are doing,
what errors would you expect to get if the speed was high???
it will make no differance what so ever,what speed you read it at,
old pc's with low spec's will transfer data at slow rate,because thats the limit they work to.if you have a high spec pc,use its capabilties,because its just transfering data,not burning it
its the burn speed that matters

some disc have minor scratches that dont make them unreadable but at the same time causes difficulty with the read process that can cause minor distortion of the iso.plus there are games that are built in a way that requires alot of lens movement during gameplay that any minor distortion of the iso will cause problems.
