Guys, can somebody please tell me if theres a fix or patch for urban chaos riot response NTSC? ive tried so many things for 5 days now and still cant get it to play on usb advance... it just goes to the very first black screen with 4 stars at bottem right corner and stays there....maybe its the dnas cd checking or something iuno but i looked around and saw that it could be ran on hdloader on mode 3 and if you edit the system.cfg file to BOOT2 = cdrom0:\URBAN\URBAN.ELF;1 well i tried this and everything went smooth until i tried to send it to my hard drive using usb extreme tools both dos and windows versions, and it wont work it says cannot write file unable to write to disk i guess cuase your changing the slus and that what usb advance reads becuase i noticed all the files it makes has the slus numbers in its name. so iuno, can somebody please help me?

yea its been dead no one uses usb extreme anymore. I still do tho lol. Urban chaos has online mode so the PS2 will check the cd for dnas. U should try to use the dnas patch that allowed killzone to work. But then online mode wont work tho.

PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

People, i've been trying to get USB ADVANCE running on my ps2 for past few weeks, i did everything i could. so far i got was that once ps2 is been booted with USB ADVANCE all the games i have installed on my USB HDD gets detected. once i attempt to run them, it gets hanged. i tried most of the games that they says compatible but there is no luck. Does anyone knows why? Plus i also would like to know what is the difference between usb advance & usb extreme. i know one thing, USB EXTREME is for money and USB ADVANCE is for free, other than that difference is there anything to do with compatibility!

I am using a FAT PS2, PAL. V9. Most of the fellas ask me to buy a Network ADaptor but guys i am living in a pretty far away place on earth and only things i could get together was for the USB HDD. thanks a million!

Cheers!

In these last days i've been trying Swap Magic... and it has a bigger compatibility list than USBeXtreme, like Gof Of War (some have managed to get it to work on usbextreme, i did it only with Swap Magic).

Still i use usbx, with the games that work. It saves me space, about 20 to 30 dvds in the HD :)

Best Regards! :)

Noriko82... u can only use USBAdvance (free) if your console has a chip, so that u can ready backups (or home-burned cds/dvds)!

As for your boot problem, i really can't help you. I suggest u try again from the start; format you HD in FAT32 mode, with USBeXtreme (if it doesn't work with windows application, try with DOS), then install a working game to test it...

Best Regards!

Linux on PS2? How? :P

Do u mean, formating the HD, and installing games using linux?

If so... i dont think there's even a linux version of USBeXtreme.

Explain please :)

Noriko82 -

DON'T USE FAT32!!! Use NTFS, it's much better for USB extreme, so probably for USB advance too.

Do you live in Iraq or Cuba? If not, I'm sure some online store will ship to your country, and you will be much happier with the network adapter HDD, much faster. I know I would have a modchip & internal HDD if I had a fat unit, but the contacts on my slimline are just too tiny for me to solder to...and I'm not paying $200 (plus parts) for someone else to do it.

hey guys i have just brought full spectrum warrior - Ten hammers, and i want to put it onto USB Extreme however i need to use a DNAS swap to achive this. The one problem is the it as DNAS310.IMG on it so there for i need IOPRP310.IMG in order to make it work and i dont have this IOPRP310.IMG file on any of my other games all i have is up to IOPRP300.IMG. Does anbody know where i can download this file or will somebody send it to me, it will be a great help, and i can send back to them almost any other IOPRP file cause i have most of them just not this one obviously.
Tnks in advance

I think USBeXtreme only works with FAT32 drives. But i've never tried NTFS... so i'm not really sure

pinkgold - i dont have the "IOPRP310.IMG" file... but KillerBug posted a list with the IOPR of each game:

IOPRP224.IMG - GT3
IOPRP214.IMG - Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero
IOPRP241.IMG - Dead 2 Rights
IOPRP243.IMG - Tekken 4
IOPRP270.IMG - Manhunt
IOPRP20.IMG - USB Extreme
IOPRP270.IMG - Online CD 3
IOPRP300.IMG - Online CD 4
IOPRP300.IMG - Altered Beast PAL
IOPRP300.IMG - Black
IOPRP260.IMG - Chessmaster
IOPRP255.IMG - clock tower 3
IOPRP300.IMG - driver parallel lines
IOPRP280.IMG - guilty gear xx slash PAL
IOPRP300.IMG - state of emergency 2
IOPRP243.IMG - tokyo extreme racer drift
IOPRP310.IMG - tomb raider legend
IOPRP300.IMG - tourist trophy
IOPRP243.IMG - transformers takati PA

...maybe u can find it somewhere on the web! :)

Hey guys I've just started using USB Extreme this past month and it's going ok. Mixed reactions coupled with reasonable expectations as regards loading times, game compatibility, DNAS swapping etc.

I have to say though, it remains the most efficient way to transport your games. Try taking the bulky FAT PS2 on holiday, or the "HD Combo" with it's oversized casing and dodgy soldering dangers.

USB Extreme is cheap (ish) and cheerful as it'll allow you to play most games that you want, some you don't want, and will not work for only a few games that you could probably live without. Well it's true for me anyway!

MY ONLY QUESTION ...

How the hell are we supposed to get Shadow of the Colossus to work???

Especially considering HD Advance users have problems with this protected game! Although I read somewhere there is now a patch for it (HD Advance)

Any ideas? Please keep posting! Let's keep USB Extreme alive! It's nto as bad as everyone makes out. They're really just being fussy.

As far as i can tell USB EXTREM/ADVANCE is a waste of time.
I have an extrnal USB drive and use USB ADVANCE to boot up and see games on the hard drive. I can see the games but they will not load?
Only one ever loaded Res evil 4.

I really cant understand why i cant get the games to load?

many thanks MaaX.

hi, so you recommend a network adaptor and a non USB hard drive?
do you know if there is a compatible games list for this method?
Also once installed can the games be booted directly from hard drive without the need to put some kind of CD Loader in?
My laser is really bad and this is the main reason for wanting to run games from the hard drive.

many thanks MaaX.

replying Maax555---

Yep, i think that is the best solution if you have a fat ps2. it was so hard for me to find a network adaptor because they are not in stores anymore. nearly more than 90% of games are compatible with network adaptor + HDD + HDLOADER,

Yes you can load HDLOADER straight out of the memory card, but as far as i know, you must have a modchip installed on the ps2 which is capable of booting in DEVOLUTION MODE, you can even launch the HDLOADER straight from hardrive using that mode (I think), as far as i know DMS 3 do supports devolution mode.

I hope this helps MAAX555

bro, what kind of PS2 do you have? If you have a slimline, and you've got the DMS SE PRO installed, you can use the IDE adaptor and hook an IDE harddrive into it! Much faster than USB, and you can then flash the DMS with ToxicOS and you'll be away laughing! If you got a fat ps2, you'll just need the network adaptor, but you should still be using ToxicOS, it's the shizzle.

I can't find network adaptors anywhere anymore, if you're reading this and know an online store selling them, please post it for me! And I will then on-sell to everyone in New Zealand who wants one.

Thanks. Oh, and from what I can tell, USB Xtreme really does suck. :(

Ya, it sucks, but then look at the system it is running on! It looks like PS2 is a piece of history, and the PS3 has a built in HDD, so I guess it needs only a modchip to do this...
