The problem i believe with Copying Gran Turismo 4 is that the Disc is written with an Illegal Table of Contents to prevent it being copied. I have studied this for a long time & it has taken me ages to perfect it!It will fit on a 4.7GB DVD so there is not need to use a Dual layered one. I used a program called Cyberlink Power Producer 2 Gold by saving the disc's image 1st and then i burnt the disc from image. It played fine on my mates PS2 as mine ain't chipped.
I used a Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1673s which i might add are an absolutely faultless drive.

Now i have 1 Question as i'm new to this, what forum would i go to find out about a program that can fit many DVD Movies on 1 Dual layered Disc (for example 5-7 movies)

as far as the movies go, you're gonna have some terrible, terrible quality if you want to put 5 movies on one DVDR.

yeah i would not even try to fit more than one if you are worried about quality, i mean good media is like .40 cents a disk, just go one movie to one dvdr if u like quality. if not u can compress to fit more. now dl disks are expensive and u could fit 2 good quality movies on them, but much cheaper to use dvd5 and go 1 to 1.

GO ILLINI
Don''t know my computer specs...but it does what I tell it to do...and pretty damn fast!!
If there's a will..there ain't always a way...so try,try again...and if ya can't figure it out...Break it!!

I hope no one misunderstood me but i meant putting more than 1 DVD movie on to a Dual Layered Disc as where i live in Tasmania which for some you may not know where that is it is a little island state south of Mainland Australia,i like to call it the forgotten state as we are always the last to get new technology - usually when we do it's already outdated,so 4 example i would like to put just sequels & trilogy's on discs. The reason i said 5,6, or 7 DVDs was some mate of mine has told me he has a program that does it without hurting the quality but i think he is full of it! And are there programs you can put a DVD on a single cd & what would the quality be like (ordinairy at best i imagine).

This is to everyone:
I just tried a program called Aray Scanner V 2.0.2.2 on GT4 and got some weird results(that i've pasted below& if you want the program just type it's name in your search engine).Usually this program just tells what type of Copy Protection is used but this stuff i've never seen or heard of,let me no if anyone has any ideas and does amyone no anything about the possibility of GT4 having and illegally written TOC toprevent copying 100% succesfully.

you could compress movies to divx/xvid format and probably get about 7 on a DVD that can be played in some divx compliant players out there. and on a small TV they would look ok.

but its not something i would ever consider, as the price of decent dvd-r disks is so low now its not worth the effort and i like my DTS/surround and i have a phat TV :)

To babelfish
Thanks for the info, i apologize if this sounds dumb but how do you compress movies to divx/xvid format. And i only ever put movies on 1:1 (DVD Shrink & Nero) when i copy because i have to have the quality of picture and sound because of my surround sound system (It absolutely rocks), it's just i had a mate telling me he has a program that does this (Puts up to 7 DVDs on 1 DVD-DL without wrecking the quality) but i don't believe me as he won't give me a copy of this bogus program! And do you know much about the new H.264 codec and where i could download a program that has it as it's quality is awesome!!!

Thanks Mate!!!

I wouldn't believe him either. I'll believe it when I see it. Babelfish is right, DivX still retains decent quality while still being small files, but he's also right that DVDR media is so cheap that what's the point?

Thanks squizzle:
I have only ever put my DVDs on Single Layered DVD + or - R Discs anyway, i just wanted to know if this fairytale was true or not, and if by some miracle he does have a program that does this i will let you all no & you will be welcome to have a copy of it.

By the way do you know of any free programs that i can download that use the New H.264 codec!

there are some guides to conversion to/from divx/xvid on these forums (click guides at the top)

i must admit that the only divx/xvid i watch is ones involving scantily clad ladies - so im not too bothered about surround sound etc on those ;)

but for real films you see such a HUGE difference between divx and DVD when using a phat TV and good surround sound system

it'd be funny to watch porn nice and loud with your windows all the way open while a parade is going on down your street. That'd be hilarious.

Right i think i know how to burn Gran Turismo 4 fully now and get it to work 100%.I have been doing a lot of research all over the net & going off one person's advice firstly you need to get Toxic's Dual Layer Patcher. Then i done an image of GT$ using Ultra ISO in an .iso format, then i used the program to apply the patch and bingo it works. Now i can just use Nero 6.6.0.1 Reloaded & burn it to a Dual Layered disc when i get one.Can i get & roughly how much cost in (AUD$) a DVD-DL RW Disc in case it don't work & stuffs a disc or doesn't work with my mates chip in the PS2,& if it don't work cause of the chip which would be the best to get (For example one that supports Dual Layer Playback of games!!!

Tried it and i got the screen telling you to wear seatbelts Ect and then nothing.

Its as if the disc was spinning but not reading,i was using swap magic. :(

The size on the disc after burning was 3.0.9 GB
