You have GOT to be kidding -

To attempt to aid you in the future - We have some very "Kweel" "Tab tools" here at aD and they're all located in the same place, ~> at the top of every page in every forum. Before you "Blow this off", let me say, that there is an incredible wealth of knowledge just waiting for you iffin' you know how to lQQk for it. Let's go over our choices. The first is our "Glossary tab". It helps you to understand the terms we use in looking for information. Why do I point this out ? The reason I point this out, is because our "tools" don't understand poor spelling OR incorrect terminology. Referring to the Glossary and choosing the correct wording may help you in finding what you're looking for much sooner. The next "Tab tool" we have is our "Software" tab. If you know the type of software you need, you can lQQk up it's sub-heading and find your software there. The last "Neato" feature is our "Guide" tab. There you'll find "guides" (directions), for almost every software we offer. It is sooooo much easier when there are directions to guide you through the steps and settings needed to do your job.
If you're not sure what you wish to do exactly, do not despair, we haven't forgotten you . . . . ., read on . . . .

NOW, I could answer your question but I know that you'd want to find it yourself rather than have someone just hand it to you, soooo, I'll try to help you around our rather confusing "Search" feature so you can learn how it's done. Next time, you'll have it down pat . . ., OK ? Kweel . . . .

Here at AfterDawn we have a super neat tool called a "Search" engine. It's loaded with stuff that covers your question -
Here, I'll show you how to use it ~>
Now the following may seem confusing so stick with me, ~ ~> There is a box at the top of each and every page that is empty and has by it the word "Search." By typing in a request, in your case, "[bDVD to AVI " - It should give you some "Hit's" from AfterDawn. You'll see different threads throughout our forum that may answer in greater detail questions that you may have dealing with your project. Answers to questions from people who are doing the same thing as you or something very similar. You'll find some stuff you can use, some stuff you cannot :<(- Take a lQQk around and see if something applies or not.
You still with me ? Good !
Now, after you've arrived at that page, if you can't find what you want then, under the word "Forum" and "Forum Search," in some very small print, you'll see "Search options" then, "Site-wide search" in really tiny print. Ya still with me ? Anyway, by "clicking" on that "Site-wide search", you'll get a whole ton of Guides and related information about your topic, " DVD to AVI". That should supply you with a bunch of info. You'll find what you need in one of those 2 places. It requires that you to type in a question and do some mousie clicks but now that you know where things are, it should be pretty easy to do and we do have a lot of information for you :)
I believe you'll find this of great help in the future ~

Enjoy,

Pete

a rather silly question BUT do you believe your post was really helpful on a thread 2 months old ?

An excellent program ~ easily found by utilizing the forum's search function -

Yet again, how is this helpful on a post 2 months old ?

Gentlemen,

If all you're trying to do is boost your posting numbers, why not use the Safety Valve and start a thread about "Nothing" and tell jokes and the like - Since useless post count, it would be better to post your useless stuff in the "Safety Valve" where you won't be sending notices to others who were present on these month's old threads.

If, on the outside chance, you were reading threads and endeavoring to help, PLEASE note the posting dates on the last post to see if it is still active.

There is always room on current threads for you to "Chime" in and you'll be recognized as a contributor and a positive force in the forum rather than someone carrying a useless title with little respect from the other members.

Thanks,

Pete

PS. When I first arrived, I also posted to out-of-date forums by accident in my haste to help. I then learned to check all dates before posting.

I only joined in order to post that one post, I had no real intention of boosting my posting numbers. I don't have the time to be posting lengthy posts all day, like yours.

secondly.....

I was looking for the exact same thing as 'fondue' and my google search sent me to this thread. Thinking I had found the answer to my problems, I was dismayed to find, once again in the computer world, that people are too willing to help even without the required answers. So, basically, my post IS helpful.. for those in the future who come across it!!

^^ Me too.

Maybe you should consider that some peopl (such as myself) found this page through a Google search and are too freakin' tired of looking everywhere else to go on a treasure hunt when all it could take is a simple post. Would it not have been easier and less time-consuming of you to just give fondue the answer?

Aaahhh, I sea it all now. You're just too good to spend your time lQQ king and since my time isn't worth anything, I should work for you . . . Kind of a "baby- whinny" give it to me or I'll cry attitude, is that it ?

Well where do you think we got that information our first time ? We Goggled for it, and then searched some more WITHOUT anyone showing us how the search function worked on each and every site.

I sea by your post that you're also incapable of reading - If you were, you might have seen that I did give him an answer - actually 2 different ways to do what he wanted BUT then again, you're the type that believes that someone should stand around you to be there when you needed your little, tiny nosey wiped.

Grow up - do something for yourself - you're not entitled to have pple doing your work for you. If you believe you are . . . .why not reduce what you're paying us by 10%.

By the way, I lQQked around and I sea you forgot to post your CC number for billing purposes. When you re-send it, we?ll be happy to issue a credit for work left undone. You?ll see the proper notation under our heading of AfterDawn Professional Services.

Apparently you don't see it now. My point was that you would have saved some of that time that is so precious to you by just either telling him or walking away instead of writing some incredible long-winded post. You're wasting you own time by writing all that.

I don't even mind that he doesn't want to help people for free...I mean if it's that big of a deal to him, so be it. I understand that he wants people to look for themselves, but what really gets me is that he keeps going on about how precious his time is, yet he seems to spend it making long-winded posts saying such. When not replying at all would have had the exact same effect.

Dah poor little baby is sooo tired looking for something he wants that everyone should jump to his aid~ WRONG !

Pretty soon even Mommy is gonna get tired of it too.

Hey Andy1471, I don't want to leave you out ~

True, true. If you spent a little more time you wouldn't feel "sorry " for all those I helped. You would see they all had something in common, they all were willing to help themselves first. "

THAT'S A HINT YOUNG FELLA !

Gee, I sea it now :)! You were just looking out for me. You just didn't want me to do what I wanted to do with my free time when I could be doing what you wanted. How wonderful is that ?

You're just a fantastic "puppy" in your own mind aren't you ? Gee, How do you find the time ? It must keep you soooo busy. Always trying figure out how to save pple from doing what they want to do something for you instead. Wow, you might just get the Presidential award for Humanitarian of the Year or something.

Here's News item my little annoying friends, it is after all MY free time to spend it as I will, NOT as you would have me spend it.

Perhaps if you did something on your own instead of whine, you would have found your answers.

LQQ k around at those who have been here a while - we became "knowledgeable " by searching on our ownNOT by crying and moaning about why our time is so important and someone else should spend their free time working for us.

Grow up !

Learn to use the "Search " feature here. It has a world of knowledge in it. "Do " for your self, THEN when you hit a "bump " in the road, come on by and we'll brainstorm you out of it and get you back on track.

THAT'S WHY I'M HERE ! That is howI wish to spend my time. Meanwhile, don't ever presume to tell another how to spend their free time unless you live in some backwards country somewhere where pple still own slaves.

OR , on a lighter note, since you believe you have the right to dictate how I should spend my time, Show me how it's done ~ Have your sorry ass at my front door this Saturday morning at 6:45 am SHARP! I have some garbage cans to swab out and some horse stalls that haven't been cleaned with a toothbrush in quite some time. Come Sunday evening, when I believe your free time should end, we'll then listen to how you want someone else to spend his or her free time.

As they say in the ole' west, "Put up OR shut up ! "
