Anyone who's just downloaded the latest version of Subrip 1.17 for all O/S's especially windows XP with SP2. There's an easy way to fix it from crashing the very moment you run the program. If you have a shortcut on your desktop then do this:
Right click on the shortcut and select Properties then select Compatability. Change the compatability mode from Windows 95 to Winwows 98/Windows ME and click the Apply tab then the OK tab. Now it should re-open with no problems. I hope this works for everyone as it did for me.
