I know nothing about it - you could say I'm a newbie at this. So, sorry.

Anyway, I was interested in this Swap Magic boot CD, which allows you to load backup CDs/DVDs from any region (PAL/NTSC), on a PAL/NTSC machine (I've got a PAL).

Now... I was wondering, there's a CD version, and a DVD version of this Swap Magic, right? Now, do I have to buy it? Can I not use some friend's backup CD/DVD that he copied? Please, I'm not asking for any links or anything, so don't trash this topic; it's not considered warez, is it?

Thanks in advance - I'd really love to get any information about loading backup CDs/DVDs on a PS2 without putting a mod chip in it.

You can't copy it, or at least from everything ive read. They're pressed unlike anything ive seen before. Plus, they're 30$. Your gonna save yourself alot of money in the long run *wink*.

Ah... That's too bad.

Well, one last thing; can you at least direct me to the official web site of Swap Magic? It's just that I searched Google, but I found lots of sites selling and featuring Swap Magic, so I'm confused.

Thanks in advance.

http://www.swapmagic3.com is the official site, but you have to purchase at an online store. I got mine at http://www.consolepoint.com pretty cheap and also picked up a case for my pstwo to keep the cd/dvd open levers restrained.

Hey Cyberlemn, this is if you decide to buy it w/ flip top.

http://consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/home.php?cat=1&page=2

http://www.gocybershopping.com/customer/search.php?substring=flip+top&search.x=34&search.y=13

Both is very good in price and customer sactifaction.

By the way, I just bought SMD 3.6 and flip top at gocybershopping.com. When they ask me the version I put PAL. I live in the US.(PS2 too) Is that okay?
