Hey all

I am having problems backing up TS3. I burnt the ISO at 2x using DVD Decypter onto RitekG05 DVD-R. Am using a DUO2SE modchip, but when trying to boot it up, after the white PlayStation 2 logo comes up, all I get is a black screen. I also have the exact same problem with James Bond Everything or Nothing. And both these games are EA games. Do they patching or rebuidling inorder for them to work? Any help would be greatful. My burner is a Pioneer 108 btw. Thanks

I too have a DUO2SE mod chip installed and I had various issues backing up this game.

I tried a few different approaches and most of them gave me really slow, choppy backups.

Finally I used Alcohol 120% and this created a perfect backup for me.

Ok will try using Alcohol 120%. What speed did you back it up at? And did you use any patches or rebuild methods?

I just used Alcohol 120% to create the image and then I burnt the image at the slowest speed possible and it was perfect.

The methods tried previous to this that worked but were really choppy included:

1. DVD Decrypter
2. Nero
3. ISO Buster -> CD DVD Generator -> Rebuilt ISO

Usually option 3 is the one I use and has the best results for EA games especially. Time Splitters 3 is the only game that I had issues with so Alcohol 120% was the last port of call and the results were spot on.

PS. I was backing up a PAL version of the game.

PPS. No patches or no special methods applied... just plain Alcohol 120%

Just burned it at 1x on Alcohol 120%. But when I try and load it up, it comes up with please insert a valid playstation 2 disk. Never had this before, usually it just goes to a black screen and just hangs. Burnt it on to RitekG04's. Any ideas?

Strange.. strange.. never had this issue.. usually to avoid the red-screen I switch on my PS2 with no disc inside it... give it a few seconds and then insert my disc.

Sometimes with the DUO2SE if you disc is in the machine on start-up you get the red-screen.

The only difference in my Alcohol backup was that I used Traxdata DVD+R and burnt at 2.4x

By the way... are you using the PAL or NTSC version? Mine was PAL

Ok now I can get the disk to try and load. Put after the playstation 2 screen, it just goes black like it did on all the other copies. Real problem with EA games. I am using a PAL version

You could try this approach to rebuild the image:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/156785

I use this on all other EA games.

After that... I am at a loss as to why you can't backup this game.

You cant rebuild TS3 I dont think. When i tried to do it, the ISO came out to be the same size as the original. So does that mean you cant rebuild it?

Just burnt it using Nero at 4x and it works flawlessly!I did use the Nero rebuild method to do it also. And after looking at the original iso and the rebuilt Nero iso, there is about 100mb difference. Anyway, it now works great and cheers for your help Brady!
