Hi I am completly new to this backup thing. i just got swamp magic 3.6 and i have made a ISO file (using Dvdcrypter) of my copy of Metal gear solid 3. i burned on 2x speed.
game is loading up, i am able to play the " monky Vs Snake" Thing, but when I start new game, it freezes after the short intro text about the cold war. any ideas?

What Type Of Blank Disk Are you Useing(Name Of The Brand And Is It R+ Or R-)

I would run dvd identifier ( http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com )
And see what the 'media id' of the disks your using are.
They are the problem.
(They may be fine for movies, But ps2 games read more frequently and
more randomly on the media.)
And therfore require a higher grade media.

ITS THE 'MEDIA ID' thats important.

Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:

MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes

I had problems backing up MGS 3 at first. I then burned it again at 4x speed and it works like the origional. Also the meedia is important, I use Maxell DVD-R.
